What We Do

Disaster Services - The Red cross provides emergency relief to those impacted by natural or manmade disasters. Disasters range from single-family residential fires to major floods, tornados, earthquakes, hazardous materials incidents and other catastrophic events. Regardless of size or type of disaster, the Red Cross ensures that peoples’ basic needs are met with food, clothing, emergency shelter, and personal items; including medications and eyeglasses.

Services to the Armed Forces- The Red Cross provides emergency communications to service members and their families 24/7, delivering messages regarding the birth of a child, serious illness or death of a loved one.

International Services - The Red Cross assists in tracing lost family members torn apart by war, civil disturbances, disasters, or other world conditions.

FA/CPR/AED Programs - Health and safety classes inform people how to prevent and properly respond to medical emergencies in First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Water Safety and Lifeguarding - Aquatic programs are offered for all ages and skill levels and include Parent and Child Aquatics, Longfellow's W.H.A.L.E. Tales for Children, Lifeguard Training, Learn to Swim (Levels I to VI) and Water Safety Today.

Workplace Training - The Red Cross educates employees on how to prevent and properly respond to medical emergencies by providing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) approved workplace safety training in CPR, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Bloodborne Pathogens prevention.

Youth Services - Our programs for youth are designed to promote community service and develop leadership skills.

Volunteer Services - The Red Cross depends on the work of volunteers to provide its services and programs to the community at large. Our vital work is made possible by people like you, who learn how good it can feel to lend a helping hand.

Blood Services - Our mission is to fulfill the needs of the American people for the safest, most reliable, and most cost-effective blood services through voluntary donations.

HIV/AIDS Education - The Red Cross, working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, educates people on how to stop transmission of HIV, encourages people to respond in informed ways to people who have HIV, and helps people apply the facts about HIV to their own behavior.
