About Us

The American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Last year, almost a million volunteers and 35,000 employees helped victims of almost 75,000 disasters; taught lifesaving skills to millions; and helped U.S. service members separated from their families stay connected. Almost 4 million people gave blood through the Red Cross, the largest supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. The American Red Cross is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. An average of 91 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work.  Images of Hope and Help: The Year in Pictures

4th Annual Heroes Campaign Kicks-off May 1
Help the Red Cross Help People in Need

(Right Here in Our Community)

On May 1, we kicked-off our 4th Annual Heroes Campaign! We invite YOU to take the challenge and join our ever-growing list of super heroes, heroes, and team heroes to raise dollars for the Red Cross. Super heroes raise $2,500 and heroes raise $1,000...collectively our goal is $100,000! It's a fun way to build camaraderie in the workplace, school, or with your friends and family. We would love to have you, your business, club, or school participate or support our heroes by attending their events, sponsoring them, or giving dollars in their name.  All proceeds will be used locally for Red Cross services in Dodge, Fillmore, Olmsted, and Wabasha Counties with disaster relief services, lifesaving first aid training, bloodmobiles, youth programs, and emergency services for military members and their families. Call Colette Gallagher, Communications & Development Coordinator at 507.287.2250 for more information.

Trained. Empowered. Prepared.
American Red Cross training helps you create more secure families, communities, workplaces and schools. The Red Cross recommends that at least one person in every home and every office floor be trained to provide lifesaving CPR/AED care in an emergency care situation.
